Abstract

Stabilization method within variational framework has been applied to estimate the positions and widths of several doubly excited 1S e resonance states of two-electron atoms [Z = 3-10] below N = 2 hydrogenic threshold. Multiexponent Hylleraas basis sets have been used to ensure the inclusion of electron correlation effects. Resonance parameters, namely the positions and widths of a number of such states, have been found for the first time and excellent agreement is observed for the resonance parameters of the states for which theoretical data already exist. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
