Abstract
Measuring quality improvements in top-quality online courses through learner review data provides a crucial basis for evaluating the effectiveness of China's top-quality online course policies. This study employed the LDA-PMC model to analyze learner review data from 1213 top-quality online courses on the China University MOOC platform, comparing students' perceptions of course quality before and after the courses received recognition. Finally, the PMC index is used to calculate the overall quality improvement of the courses as well as the improvements across various disciplines. The findings show significant overall quality improvement, though progress in course content, instructional resources, and instructional support is somewhat limited. There are also clear differences in quality improvements across disciplines. The quality improvement in natural sciences and engineering courses is rated as excellent, while medical and business courses show good improvement. However, agricultural, humanities, and social sciences courses demonstrate more modest improvements.
