Abstract
The phenomenon of globalization emerged during the nineties of the twentieth century. It became one of the most widely used terms and occupied a leading position in the seminars and conferences. It effected various areas of life, its effects appeared in all its sectors especially in politics, economy, culture and the media. There are several factors which have combined to contribute to its consolidation and spread in the world. The first and foremost is communicative technological progress and influence of the media at the global level. The media has contributed immensely to the marketing of the phenomenon of globalization and the consolidation of its values and goals, which are summarized in the melting of the world in one crucible, one style in food, clothing, customs and traditions, the abolition of international barriers to impose the global capitalist system, the creation of a modern feudal system through the penetration of multinational companies around the world and the influence of international organizations, legislation of the law of the jungle “Might is Right”, enrichment of the rich and making the poor poorer. This research article talks about the impact of globalization on contemporary Arab media, and discusses whether it is responsible for a social change that has not been seen in previous centuries? Did it cause cultural and linguistic homogenization at the global level? What are its advantages and shortcomings? What is the best way to deal with media globalization?
