Abstract

Prioritization of preventive maintenance is one of the most critical criteria for electricity generation planners to maximize system reliability, minimizing production costs and system downtime. In this paper fuzzy logic used to prioritize the preventive maintenance of gas power plant generation units. Four factors were considered to construct the fuzzy model including failure severity, failure harm, downtime, and failure frequency. To validate the proposed fuzzy model performance a power generating system having 14 generating units was considered. The test results confirm the superiority of the model in determining the unit's maintenance priorities, which can be used further in solving the power plant maintenance scheduling optimization problem.
