Abstract

Introducction: Assisted reproduction techniques (ART) are a group of techniques designed to solve infertility problems affecting 10% of the population of reproductive age. Development: Currently, there are two types of procedures: high and low-complexity cycles. In vitro fertilization, cryotransference, oocyte donation, pre-implantation genetic diagnosis, in vitro maturation, and oocyte freezing belong to the first group. On the other hand, artificial insemination with semen from the spouse or an anonymous donor is within the second. Conclusions: the main bioethical problems focus on the beginning of life and on the consideration of the embryo as an object of law. On the other hand, the current situation in some countries is worrying due to the lack of legislation on the implementation of ART’s, despite a high demand for them.
