Abstract

The title compound, C13H11N3O3, is essentially planar (r.m.s. for the 19 non-H atoms = 0.031 Å), a conformation stabilized in part by intramolecular O - H⋯N and N - H⋯O hydrogen bonds. The configuration about the imine bond [1.2919 (12) Å] is E. The presence of N - H⋯O(nitro) hydrogen bonds leads to the formation of supramolecular tapes in the crystal structure. These are connected into layers by π-π interactions [centroid-centroid distance = 3.6046 (6) Å] occurring between the hydroxy- and amino-substituted benzene rings. © Shahverdizadeh et al. 2011.
