Abstract

Taking the meaning of the word corruption in the Ancien Régime as a starting point, this paper explores the figure of the crimen corruptionis (also known as repetundarum or barattaria) in the legal culture of the ius commune, paying special attention to Castilian jurisprudence of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries.
