Abstract

In this paper, we report a simple, low temperature synthesis method of ZnO nanoparticles of controlled size via a polymer precursor. The precursor was obtained by a controlled reaction of Zn2+ ions in an aqueous solution of poly-vinyl alcohol (PVA) and sucrose. The ZnO nanoparticles, derived by heating the precursor powder at 350-550°C, shows platelet type particles. © 2012 American Institute of Physics.
