Abstract
Phytotoxicity test of probiotic bacteria was carried out to determine its effect on the germination of jack bean seeds (Canavalia ensiformis L). The study was conducted in February to March 2017, at the Seed Health Laboratory and Seed Center of the Bogor Institute of Agriculture. The study was designed in a Randomized Block Design with seven treatments and three replications. The test results showed that three pairs of probiotics were toxic and three other pairs of probiotics that were not toxic to the growth of Canavalia ensiformis. The three pairs of probiotics that are not toxic are AcCKB20-P24 (D1), AcCKB4-B28 (D3), and AcCKW5-P24 (D4). The three pairs of probiotics that are not toxic are recommended for use in making bio-organic fertilizers for Canavalia ensiformis.
