Abstract

Kata kunci:      IMT, Hb, pre-eklamsia, asfiksiaAbstractAsphyxia is still one of the highest neonatal causes of death in Indonesia. Among the various causative factors, pre-eclampsia in pregnant and maternity women is suspected to be one of the causes of neonatal asphyxia. The study of risk factors and characteristics of pre-eclampsia mothers continues to be studied to determine their consequences on perinatal outcome. The aim of this study was to analyze the correlation between body mass index (BMI) factors and Hb levels in maternity mothers with pre-eclampsia to neonatal asphyxia. This research used analytical design with a retrospective approach. The population was maternity mothers with pre-eclampsia and their babies at Bunda Hospital Surabaya. Sampling was carried out with a total sample and obtained as many as 30 respondents in April-May 2022. The data were analyzed using the Spearman correlation test. The results of this study showed that BMI and Hb levels had p-values of p= 0.326 and p = 0.006, respectively. This means that the Hb level factor in maternity mothers with pre-eclampsia shows a significant correlation to the incidence of neonatal asphyxia, while the BMI factor does not show any correlation. Keywords:       BMI, Hb, pre-eclampsia, asphyxia
