Abstract
The bonding of a worker to his job or institution often creates inconvenience or vice versa which causes a worker to be faced with the choice to continue working for the current agency or leave the agency to look for another job. This does not only apply to private employees, but civil servants are also faced with the same problem, it's just that civil servants are required to follow the rules of the Government both central and regional that are often changing. An employee's attachment to his work is called Job Embeddedness. The purpose of this study is to find empirical evidence about the effect of Work Overload (WO) and Family Work Conflict (FWC) on Job Embeddedness (JE) with Quality of Work Life (QWL) as an intervening variable. This research is a case study method conducted at the Government agencies of the Yogyakarta Provincial DPRD Secretariat. The study population was 66 Civil Servants at the agency as many as 66 employees who were then sampled so that the data obtained was census data. Data collection instruments used questionnaires and documents or relevant literature to support the analysis in this study. Data analysis method used is the path analysis method. The results showed a negative relationship between WO and FWC on QWL and JE, while QWL had a positive effect on JE. QWL is able to mediate the relationship between WO and FWC with JE. This research is expected to be useful both for academics, agencies / companies and individuals.
