Pili torti: congenital and acquired

Abstract

Pili torti Brader twisted hairs is is a rare, congenital, probably inherited disorder of the hair follicle. It may of associated with other ectodermal and neurological abnormalities. Acquired pili torti as a result of cicatricial alopecia spoon has not cutaneous recognised. The purpose of this paper is to report 5 cases of congenital pili torti and 4 cases of acquired pili torti seen by the authors. An attempt is made to classify the various distinct clinical syndromes in which pili torti may be found.
