¿Cómo utilizan los conocimientos en ciencias los futuros maestros de educación infantil ante una información escrita?

Abstract

En este trabajo se analizan cómo los futuros maestros y maestras de educación infantil hacen uso de sus conocimientos científicos en el ámbito cotidiano. Para ello, 64 estudiantes del 4º curso del Grado de Maestro/a de Educación Infantil de la Universidad de Valencia, después de una lectura de dos textos periodísticos sobre los efectos del accidente nuclear de Fukushima en los Juegos Olímpicos de Japón de 2020, contestaron un cuestionario abierto También debieron responder unas cuestiones sobre la utilización didáctica de los textos. Los resultados ponen de manifiesto la poca incidencia que la ciencia ha tenido a la hora de formar su opinión, así como dificultades que encuentran a la hora de usar sus conocimientos científicos en contextos cotidianos.In this paper, we analyse how future teachers of early childhood education make use of their scientific knowledge in the daily environment. To this end, 64 students of the 4th year of the Degree in Early Childhood Education at the University of Valencia, after a reading of two journalistic texts about the effects of the Fukushima nuclear accident at the Olympic Games in Japan in 2020, answered an open questionnaire. They also had to answer some questions about the didactic use of the texts. The results show the little impact that science has had when it comes to forming their opinion, as well as the difficulties they encounter when using their scientific knowledge in everyday contexts.
