Abstract

The chromosome number, karyotype morphology and geographical distribution of 11 taxa from the indigenous flora of Cyprus are presented, along with comments concerning their IUCN status, whenever appropriate. For the endemic taxa Taraxacum aphrogenes and Crypsis factorovskyi karyological data are reported for the first time, whereas the remaining taxa are karyologically examined for the first time from Cypriot material. Karyotype microphotographs for all taxa are provided and their karyotype morphology is discussed. © 2014 © 2014 Dipartimento di Biologia Evoluzionistica, Università di Firenze.
