Abstract

Objective: To analyze clinic characteristic of children with severe drug eruption in our hospital. Methods: The data of 75 children with severe drug eruption in our hospital were analyzed retrospectively. Results: The age of onset of 75 patients was from 3 months to 17 years. Of 75 patients, 13 (17.33%) were younger than 1 year old, 11 (14.67%) aged from 1 to 3 years, 13 (17.33%) aged from 3 to 6 years, 33 (44.00%) aged from 6 to 12 year, 5 (6.67%) aged from 12 to 18 year. The type of severe drug eruption included SJS in 44 patients (58.6%), DHS in 20 patients (26.6%), TEN in 11 patients (14.6%). The common sensitizing drugs were antibiotics in 33 patients (44.00%), antipyretic and analgesic drugs in 14 patients (18.67%), antiepileptic drugs in 13 patients (17.33%). Conclusion; Antibiotics is the most sensitizing drugs for severe drug eruption in children, the peak age is from 6 to 12 years, and the most common tyoe was SJS.
