Abstract

Family harmony supports individual growth in many ways and supports the resilience of families now and in the future. This research discusses how family harmony can build stunting-free family resilience and the perspective of Islamic family law in realizing it through the role of Palembang City DPPKB (The Population and Family Planning Control Department). This study uses field research with a qualitative descriptive data analysis approach as well as a case study of Palembang City DPPKB. The results show that family harmony has an important role in building stunting-free family resilience. The important things in building a harmonious family to minimize the occurrence of stunting are parental stability, both material and non-material, appropriate parenting patterns, frequency of family togetherness, and family educational history. By considering the perspective of Islamic family law, Palembang City DPPKB can ensure that the programs are accepted and implemented well by the community. The factors that support the role of DPPKB in achieving stunting-free family resilience include education and information, availability of resources, women’s empowerment, monitoring and evaluation, and cross-sector collaboration. This is also in accordance with the values of Islamic teachings in conducting maqasid asy-syariah, hifdh an-nafs/protection of the soul.
