Abstract

Our results demonstrate that an oral premedication can be used safely in an outpatient population to decrease perianesthetic problems without prolongation of recovery time. The decreased incidence of crying upon arrival in the operating room as well as the reduced pre and postinduction secretions are favorable for smooth induction of anesthesia in pediatric patients. These conditions were significantly improved with premedication.
