Abstract
Background information about diurnal lepidoptero-fauna collected in the summer 2002-2003, at the Senda Darwin Biological Station, Chiloé is given. During the sampling period a total of nine species were found: Eroessa chilensis (Guérin, 1830), Colias vauthierii Guérin, 1829, Nelia nemyroides (Blanchard, 1852), Auca coctei (Guérin, 1838), Homoeonympha humilis (C. & R. Felder, 1867), Hylephila signata (Blanchard, 1852), Butleria flavomaculata tristriata Bryk, 1944, Butleria elwesi Evans, 1939 and Butleria bissexguttata (Philippi, 1859) distributed in 3 families: Pieridae, Nymphalidae and Hesperiidae. The highest diversity and homogeneity was found in grassland-type habitats (H′= 1.59; J′= 0.99; 1-D= 0.79) and low-open forest (H′= 1.49; J′= 0.93; 1-D= 0.76). Closed forest was found to be the less diverse and homogeneous (H′= 0.86; J′= 0.62; 1-D= 0.44). Adult figures are provided. © 2007 Universidad de Concepción.
