Abstract

An experimental program was conducted to obtain direct measurements of side-on overpressures at small scaled distances from spherical charges of six different high explosives. The pressure-time recordings made on the experiments were processed to obtain peak over pressures, shock wave arrival times, side-on impulses, and positive durations of the incident or side-on pressure pulse. In addition to comparisons of the data with TNT reference curves for these four parameters, TNT equivalency for each explosive was obtained based on side-on peak overpressures and impulses. © 1986.
