Abstract
Domestic violence: towards a « clinic of reality ». - Working in the field of domestic violence confronted us to the necessity of evaluating the levels of complexity of each situation, questioning differ- ent therapeutic models, and integrating specific elements of these models in a clinical approach adapted to the phenomenon of violence: « clinic of reality ». It associates and takes into account specific characteris- tics of each situation: the psychotraumatic dimension, the short, medium or long term impact of violence on global health, the responsibility of the acts, the responsibilisation as for protection and relational com- mitment of the couple. Considering the peculiarities of violence issues, we propose to address these spe- cific characteristics differently according to the time and to the settings.
