Abstract

A simple model which describes electron excitation caused by plasmon decay was made. As such, the T matrix was built using a Born expansion to include the electron-electron interaction to all orders leading to the FEG dielectric response function. The results for the total probability of electron excitation via plasmon decay per unit time account for just one-half of the plasmons excited by the projectile.
