Abstract

The most common pathogenic germs of mycotic endophthalmitis are Candida, Fusarium and Aspergillus fumigatus. As a dematiaceous fungus, Phialophora verrucosa (Medlar, 1915) has not been reported to cause endophthalmitis. Herein, we report a case of endophthalmitis induced by P. verrucosa and Streptococcus intermedius. © 2010 ISHAM.
