Abstract
Stunting is one of the nutritional status problems in toddlers which is described as a form of growth failure due to poor nutrition and health during the prenatal and postnatal periods. Stunting appears as a result of malnutrition that has accumulated over a long period of time so that its physical manifestations will be more visible at the age of 24-59 months. This study aims to determine the relationship between parenting and the incidence of stunting in toddlers in the working area of the Suliki Kanagarian Public Health Center Tanjung Bungo, Lima Puluh Kota Regency. The design of this research is quantitative analytic observational, with a cross sectional research design. The population in this study were mothers of children under five at the Suliki Health Center, Kanagarian Tanjung Bungo, Lima Puluh Kota Regency. Sampling using the Consecutive Sampling technique as many as 100 people. The results of the bivariate analysis obtained p-value = 0.001 which indicates that there is a significant relationship between personal hygiene and the incidence of stunting under five. The conclusion of this study is that parenting in the family in the form of personal hygiene is associated with stunting in toddlers.
