Conexiones matemáticas identificadas en una clase sobre las funciones exponencial y logarítmica

Abstract

Resumen Se analizaron las conexiones matemáticas que emergieron durante una clase de matemáticas, de cuarto semestre, de un bachillerato mexicano, en la que se abordó como objeto de estudio a las funciones exponencial y logarítmica. El análisis de datos se realizó empleando parte del análisis ontosemiótico, en el que se identificaron las conexiones matemáticas entre los objetos primarios que emergieron en las diferentes prácticas matemáticas realizadas. Las conexiones matemáticas se conciben como un proceso mediante el cual una persona establece una relación verdadera entre dos o más conceptos, definiciones, proposiciones, representaciones etc. Uno de los resultados encontrados es que la conexión de reversibilidad entre las funciones no fue establecida en la clase y que la conexión mayormente evidenciada fue la de representaciones diferentes (entre los registros lenguaje natural, simbólico y gráfico).Abstract In this study, we analyzed the mathematical connections that emerged during a fourth-semester math class at a Mexican high school in which the exponential and logarithmic functions were addressed as an object of study. The data analysis was carried out using part of the onto-semiotic analysis, in which the mathematical connections between the primary objects that emerged in the different mathematical practices carried out were identified. Mathematical connections are conceived as a process by which a person establishes a true relationship between two or more concepts, definitions, propositions, representations, etc. One of the results found is that the reversibility connection between the functions was not established in the class and that the most evidenced connection was that of different representations (between the natural, symbolic, and graphic language registers).
