Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is an increase in learning motivation and understanding of mathematical concepts through cooperative learning models of group investigation type material for applying the inverse matrix to students of class XI IPS-2 SMA Negeri 1 Dekai. This study used the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method. In class action research data collection was carried out in several stages, namely: cycle 1 and cycle 2. The problem solving process starts from planning, action, observation, analyzing data and information to find out the weaknesses and strengths of the results of the action (reflection). ). Data collection techniques by way of observation and documentation. Quantitative and qualitative data analysis includes three components: data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. Based on the analysis of research data, it was concluded that the increase in motivation to learn mathematics with group investigation cooperative learning in cycle 1 and cycle 2 obtained a moderate predicate with an average motivation in cycle 1 was 3.45 and the average motivation in cycle 2 was 3.66 . Even though the predicate is moderate, learning activities with the group investigation type show a better learning process. Students like learning with the group investigation type and state that the group investigation type provides a pleasant experience for students. An increase in understanding of mathematical concepts in the application of the inverse matrix can be seen from the level of mastery of student learning which increased from 28 students, as many as 15 students (54%) scored ? 65, in cycle 2 there was an increase in 24 students (86%) scored ? 65. Meanwhile only 4 students (14%) did not succeed in obtaining a score of ? 65. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that increasing learning motivation and understanding of mathematical concepts can be achieved with the cooperative learning model of the group investigation type on the application of the inverse matrix material for class XI IPS-2 students of SMA Negeri 1 Dekai. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adanya peningkatan motivasi belajar dan pemahaman konsep matematika melalui model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe group investigation materi penerapan invers matriks pada siswa kelas XI IPS-2 SMA Negeri 1 Dekai. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Dalam penelitian tindakan kelas pengambilan data melalui beberapa tahap yaitu: siklus 1 dan siklus 2. Proses pemecahan masalah dimulai dari perencanaan (planning), tindakan (action), pengamatan (observation), menganalisa data dan informasi untuk mengetahui kelemahan dan kelebihan hasil tindakan (reflection). Teknik pengambilan data dengan cara observasi dan dokumentasi. Analisis data kwantitatif dan kwalitatif meliputi tiga komponen: reduksi data, sajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Berdasarkan analisa data penelitian, diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa peningkatan motivasi belajar matematika dengan pembelajaran kooperatif tipe group investigation pada Siklus 1 dan siklus 2 memperoleh predikat sedang dengan rata-rata motivasi pada siklus 1 adalah 3,45 dan rata-rata motivasi siklus 2 adalah 3,66. Meskipun pada predikat sedang tetapi aktivitas pembelajaran dengan tipe group investigation menunjukkan proses pembelajaran yang lebih baik. Siswa menyukai pembelajaran dengan tipe group investigation dan menyatakan bahwa tipe group investigation memberikan pengalaman yang menyenangkan bagi siswa. Peningkatan pemahaman konsep matematika materi penerapan invers matriks dapat dilihat dari tingkat ketuntasan belajar siswa yang meningkat dari 28 siswa, sebanyak 15 siswa (54%) memperoleh nilai ? 65, pada siklus 2 terjadi peningkatan 24 siswa (86%) memperoleh nilai ? 65. Sedangkan siswa yang belum berhasil memperoleh nilai ? 65 hanya 4 siswa (14%). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa peningkatan motivasi belajar dan pemahaman konsep matematika dapat dicapai dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe group investigation pada materi penerapan invers matriks siswa kelas XI IPS-2 SMA Negeri 1 Dekai.
