Abstract
The use of herbal medicines through the perception of experience and information makes the decision to take medication even higher. Community perception is influenced by economic conditions and time, family or friends, and the level of community knowledge that can be measured through the theory of health belief model (HBM). The purpose of this study was to look at the relationship between community perceptions based on the health belief model (HBM) method with the use of herbal medicines in Denpasar. This study uses a cross-sectional survey design. The number of samples used was 97. Data were collected from January to February 2020 in the city of Denpasar using a questionnaire. Data were analyzed using a binary logistic test. Perceived benefits and self efficacy provide a significant relationship to the use of herbal medicines in Denpasar City (p value <0.05). Pharmacist considerations and the use of relatively safe doses can make people able to increase their knowledge in the use of herbal medicines. Improving physical, mental and spiritual aspects with the use of herbal medication still needs to be done, especially in supporting public health.
