Abstract

Solar energy is the most abundant source of energy that must be used to face the global energy crisis and reduce the accumulation of greenhouse gases that influence climate change. In this research, a parabolic disk solar concentrator is conceptually designed to generate heat at the focal point with a temperature higher than 400 ° C for multiple applications such as steam generation, water heating, food cooking or storage. of heat. The methodology used is developed in three stages: Definition of the problem by identifying user needs; determination of the solution concept by evaluating the combination of function carriers of the components; and choice of configuration, dimensions and materials, by simulating the essential element that is the parabolic disk with the SolTrace software.
