Abstract

Football is a national passion. More than just a game, this sport of British origin, was “abrasileirada” to the point of being considered an expression of our culture and characteristic of our national identity. In the Brazilian reality, the world of the ball, although it represents an entire nation, it still shows a specific audience – men - leaving aside the participation of women, who seek a place of visibility and respect. Women, as well as men, participate in football in a variety of ways, However, there are still obstacles in this relationship. This article, of a theoretical nature, presents a historical construction about football and concerning female participation in the game. It also discusses the roles and spaces of women who cheer, play, referee, command and direct football clubs. Finally, it is possible to reflect, from the perspective of heideggerian existencial phenomenological, the participation of women in the context of football like Dasein, who has openness to the world and a sense of being-power.
