Abstract

In this procedure of analysis for iron in serum and measurement of iron binding capacity, the Beckman Model 560 DSA and ferrozine are used. The analysis rate is 120 samples per hour. interferences were investigated and a procedure was devised for masking high concentrations of copper. A modified procedure was used to prepare samples for the assay of total iron binding capacity. This procedure is more rapid and requires smaller amounts of sample than many methods now in use.
