Abstract
The purpose of the problem in this study is to find and analyze the errors made by students when working on line and series questions. The aim is to further improve students' academic achievement and success. This study uses a qualitative method. The prosess of colleting data using test and interviews. Each research subject was asked about the success of the work on line end series question. It was concluded that students tried to use the Newman method when working on math problem. However, because they are not used to it, these steps are not carried out properly, especially when explaining explanations. Regarding the errors experienced by students in answering questions, there were no students with errors in reading information. Students are able to read the questions correctly and can understand the problems in the questions. The first type of error that students make lies in the information transformation error. The reason is that students are not able to concentrate, do not know the questions asked, do not remember the material being taught, do not use the formula used and do not concentrate on solving problems. The next type of error is the process skill error, lies in the accuracy of the calculation process at the time of solving the problem.
