Abstract
A fundamental basis of clinical surgery is the patients' hydroelectrolytic balance. In conjunction with this topic, the distribution of electrolytes aming the hydric compartments, the relation between water gain and water loss, and the main hydroelectrolytic disturbances are discussed. Furthermore, both the hydration and the electrolytic replacement in surgery patients are emphasized.
