Abstract

In this paper the authors show the rationale behind the changes in the regulatory environment - with regulation moving toward a more risk-sensitive capital adequacy system and stronger risk governance - and their economic impact and influence on the management function. © 2005 The International Association for the Study of Insurance Economics.
