Abstract
The objective of this contribution is to highlight the variety in profiles of school experiences during adolescence. The originality of our study results from taking the subjective perspective of students' own schooling into account. We distributed questionnaires to 677 junior highschool students in 9th grade (USA) / Year 10 (UK) (290 girls, 387 boys), aged 13-17 years (M = 14.8, SD = 0.74), in 15 high schools.A downward hierarchical classification reveals four contrasting profiles amongst these students, who each resolutely reflect singular subjective experiences. These have been linked with the plurality of school trajectories, relationships between schooling and learning and with differentiated patterns of family socialization. © Tous droits réservés.
