Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the differences between the scientific attitude of students who use the Open Inquiry learning model with students who use Guided Inquiry learning model on the theme of temperature and changes. This study used Quasi Experiment with study design Matching Only pretest-posttest control group design. The study sample consisted of 56 students of class VII from one SMP N in Palembang. The sampling technique used was cluster random sampling. Data collection techniques were scale scientific attitude. Data were analyzed using normality test, homogeneity test, and test Independent Samples Test using IBM SPSS Statistics 22 program and Microsoft Excel. Data obtained from the increase in scientific attitude to student learning model that uses the Open Inquiry of 0.30 with the moderate category and for students who use Guided Inquiry learning model of 0.21 with a lower category. The test results demonstrate the value of research hypothesis significance (2-tailed) of 0.031
