Abstract

This review characterizes the relative effectiveness and safety of drug-eluting stents (DES) compared to bare metal stents. The data evaluated will include clinical and angiographic outcomes from randomized clinical trials as well as observational databases and registries including RESEARCH, e-CYPHER, and DYNAMIC, which typically include a much broader spectrum of patients. In addition, specific patient subsets including those patients with multivessel coronary disease, will be evaluated. © 2005 MedReviews, LLC.
