Abstract

This paper proposes the incorporation of data envelopment analysis (DEA) to the methodology for the construction of a sustainable adjustable inmotic storage hall (MEINASA in spanish), in order to make it more robust for application in the design of production systems for warehousing of non-perishable products, given the interests of the client and the buyer-supplier echelon in the supply networks. MEINASA is used in a real design case of a distribution center for a manufacturer of faucets and DEA is applied to calculate the efficiency index of the 16 generated proposals, obtaining five efficient designs which can be assigned as peers for improvement of the remaining ones. The results suggest possible modifications that can be made on the designs identified as inefficient.
