Abstract

In the course of some research on peppers, Capsicum annum (SMITH and HEI.SF.K 1951), conducted at the Citrus Experiment Station, Riverside, Cali fornia, several striking, heritable fruit characters were noted. Upon further anal ysis, a chromosome lìnkage was found to exist between two imniature-fruit color genes and a gene determining pepper fruit shape. In addition the fruit shape difference between the two varieties tested was fornid to be due to a single gene difference.
