Abstract

A calculation of the spectroscopic properties, energy levels, electromagnetic transitions, and moments of the ten nuclei 128,130Te, 128,130I, 128,130Xe, 129,131I, and 127,129Te within the framework of the interacting boson model (IBM-2) and its extensions (IBFM-2 and IBFFM-2) is presented. The wave functions thus obtained are used to calculate single-β and 2?ββ matrix elements for 128,130Te → 128,130I → 128,130Xe decay. Use of the effective value of the axial vector coupling constant gA,eff,β extracted from the single-β case produces results for 2?ββ in agreement with experiment. © 2013 The Author(s).
