Abstract
A newborn baby with smooth muscle hypertrophy of the oesophagus, stomach, pylorus, colon, and bladder born to a myasthenic mother is described. Polycystic kidneys, cardiac hypertrophy, and hypoplastic lungs were also present. It is suggested that a large dose of neostigmine given throughout pregnancy could cause these muscle hypertrophies.
