Abstract

At present it has become a constant concern the evaluation of the sustainability of tourist destinations. An analysis of different experiences and evaluation models is made in this work, its advantages and limitations are determined; from which a new procedure is proposed for the integrated evaluation of the sustainability of tourist destinations in time, as a function of local development. The evaluation indicators are divided into tourist and local places, which allow, with the use of Principal Components Analysis [PCA], to evaluate the contribution of sustainable development to the development of territories; calculate an integrated synthetic index of sustainability of the destination and formulate the actions of the municipal strategies.
