Abstract

Suicide prevention for people with schizophrenia or bipolar disorder warrants an evidencebased approach to service design as well as clinical practice. The issue of personal responsibility (diminished when mental capacity is impaired) contributing to reduction of suicide risk has, arguably, been neglected.
