Abstract

Radiocarbon forced the abandonment of the Orientalist interpretation of the development of later Iberian prehistory and made it necessary its rethinking in terms of autochthonous evolutionary processes. The large lines of the chronology now being firmly established, radiocarbon should now be used to establish and refine the subdivisions of the Peninsula's various regional sequences.
