Abstract

Theoretical and reflexive essay aiming to discuss the phenomenon of the Population in Street Situation as expression of the social issue. While expression of social inequalities, this is a secular phenomenon which once presented itself and was denominated in other ways. During the last decades, the PSR has expanded in the world following the effects of the society structuring and capitalism means of production, as also the aggravation of crises, productive restructuration, financialization and the precariousness of life. We point out the importance of rescuing the debate about this social issue, especially among psychologists involved with this field, as a way of affirming the structural dimension of the street situation phenomenon, besides holding off from outlooks that individualize and depoliticize it.
