Abstract
THE VALUES OF THE ORIENTATION DISTRIBUTION FUNCTION AND DATA FROM A POLE FIGURE ARE CORRELATED BY PRODUCTS OF PARTICULAR PROBABILITIES. ONE APPROXIMATION OF THESE PRODUCTS IS DEMONSTRATED BY AN EXAMPLE SHOWING HOW THE ORIENTATION DISTRIBUTION FUNCTION CAN BE OBTAINED.
