Abstract
The article examines the involvement of the U.S. military in the government's partnerships with the countries of Botswana, Namibia and South Africa in confronting environmental issues. With the modest results manifested by the initiative, the author proposes a revitalization of relationships and a more active role by national and local militaries. Accordingly, such goal will only be achieved if the military will have a good understanding of its role in international environmental partnerships.
