Abstract
The main purpose of this study was to evaluate the job satisfaction of secondary school teachers in Spain. In this research, the sample was made up of 2943 teachers of public schools, distributed around the country, and the data were collected by conducting a survey on-line, the Job Satisfaction Scale - Teacher's Form (Escala de Satisfacción Laboral - Versión para Profesores, ESL-VP). Results indicate that teacher satisfaction is situated at a medium level, but with strong differences at the level of dimension and facet. In addition, external measures to the ESL-VP were used in the study, in order to provide additional information about satisfaction with the current job, pleasure with life in the workplace, desire for job change, and desire for early retirement. The study provides results based on teachers' gender and professional seniority.
