Abstract

Flora of the Serra do Cipó, Minas Gerais: Acanthaceae). The study of the family Acanthaceae is a part of the "Flora of Serra do Cipó, Minas Gerais, Brasil". In that area, the family is represented by the following genera, with their respective number of species: Staurogyne (2), Ruellia (7), Lepidagathis (1), Justicia (3). Key to the genera and species, descriptions and illustrations, as well as comments on the geographic distributions and variability of the species are presented. Two new names and a new combination are proposed: Justicia serrana to Orthotactus montanas Nees, Justicia riparia to Beloperone mollis Ness and Lepidagathis floribunda to Lophostachys floribunda Poh
