Abstract
There have been very few studies on the return from professional expatriation within the field of career psychology, despite the repatriation transition being a great life test. This research examines the stages in the journey from expatriation to repatriation. A study of 65 executives, who were repatriated within the same French organization, was carried out to evaluate the effects of motivators and subjective adaptation to expatriation, as well as the perceived conditions of the return on self-efficacy, the impacts on identity and the affective tone during repatriation.
