Abstract

Fecundity-length relationships for the S Labrador area differed significantly from that for the SE Gulf of St. Lawrence both in the rate of egg production and the number of eggs produced, but no differences were found in the fecundity-age relationships. The higher fecundity of fish in the southeastern Gulf of St. Lawrence may be due to their becoming mature at considerably smaller sizes. -from Sport Fishery Abstracts
