Abstract
From some photographs taken by Curt Nimuendaju, the article presents a bibliographical compendium about the mask rituals of the Timbira Indians of Brazil, and tries to emphasize, beyond the sight, the importance that the other four senses (touch, taste, smell and hearing) may have in the process of signification of the indian ritual.
